When is the Municipal election?

In person voting is on Monday, October 24th. You can vote by internet or phone from October 11th through October 24th. More details at:  https://www.trentlakes.ca/en/government/voter-information.aspx

Who is running for Council?

How can I donate to your campaign?

Personal donations are welcome and greatly appreciated!! They offset the costs of campaigning – website, brochures, signs, etc. The easiest way to donate is through e-transfer to carol.armstrong@outlook.com. Checks are also graciously accepted.

Very disappointment that nothing has been done to regulate STRs during the last few years while you were in office despite repeated requests from those who have the unfortunate luck of properties being bought up next to them to simply run STRs. Those individuals or corporations run multiply STRs and buy residential properties to essentially run businesses with little or no regard for neighbors. These properties are zoned residential yet hotel businesses that rent on nightly basis are allowed to operate with no controls over septic capacity/noise/etc. Municipal governments are meant to regulate for the greater good not the self interest of those who run STRs.

  2. Interesting someone else picked up on this. Four years ago at the all candidates meeting you, in response to a question at the BCC said you supported by-laws to manage STRs. Yet as a member on the STR working group you have been a strong voice against reasonable regulations. Yes you are analytical but a bit more pragmatism and respect for those who were advising you would be appropriate.
